NDIS plan review: what it is and how to prepare
Last checked against official sources:
People often say “plan review” for a few different things. Knowing which one applies helps you ask for the right thing.
Reassessment, variation or internal review
A plan reassessment looks at your whole plan again. You can ask for one, and the NDIA can also start one. A variation changes part of a plan without a full reassessment.
An internal review is different. It asks the NDIA to look again at a specific decision, such as a decision not to fund a support. It has a time limit.
What to gather
Your current plan, any decision letters, and recent reports from your treating professionals. Notes about daily life and what has changed are also useful.
Reports are most useful when they describe how disability affects everyday activities, what support is recommended, and why.
Questions worth asking
Does each report connect its recommendation to a functional need? Does the plan say why a recommended support was or was not included? Are there gaps a clinician could clarify?
